WESTRIVER GATHERING

WestRiver Gathering is the name of the church God has called us to plant in Winter Garden, FL to the west of Orlando.

Why is the church called WestRiver Gathering?

In the Old Testament the Jordan River always represented a barrier for the people of God, particularly in the book of Joshua. God’s first act in moving them towards His will for their lives, to fulfill their part in the redemptive work of Christ, was to move them through the Jordan to the west side of the river.  In doing so God ushered His people into the life He had promised and called them to.

The name WestRiver signifies our desire to move beyond the barriers of our time so that we too may fulfill our part in God’s redemptive work through Jesus Christ. It signifies our desire to rest and trust in the promises, goodness, and sovereignty of God as we fully embrace the Gospel and embody the Way of Christ for His Kingdom and glory.
